My Oekaki [beta]

My Oekaki is a new free website where you can create and run your own free oekaki! You will have complete administrative control of the site and are free to run it however you see fit (as long as you abide by our rules!)

Don't know what an oekaki is? Then this service probably isn't for you! :) Look up oekaki on Wikipedia, and check out a popular one in action at http://www.neoartists.org/oekaki/.

Please Note: This service is currently in a limited BETA. During this time, only a limited number of users will be able to create new oekakis. Please be advised that during this beta, while unlikely, your site may be inaccessible at times and may be modified without prior notice. This is to ensure that we are able to create a service that everyone can enjoy!

The Details

All oekakis will run the latest version of Wacintaki Poteto which is currently 1.2.5. Ads will be displayed near the top of every page which must not be removed. These ads are what allow us to provide this service free of charge. (Believe us, hosting oekakis isn't cheap. They can use an insane amount of bandwidth at times!) If you remove these ads your oekaki will be deleted.

All oekaki owners also have the option of receiving their own message board on our forum.

The basic rules:

Please understand that this service is in beta. There may be distruptions in service from time to time but we will try to keep them at a minimum.
You understand that you may not use your oekaki for any illegal activity.
Hateful or inflamatory content is not allowed on any My Oekaki website.
The ads on the top of each page may not be removed as they are what allows us to offer this free service. In the future we may provide a way for users to have the ads removed.
At this time, users will not have FTP or shell access to their oekaki. This may or may not change as the beta progresses.
To simplify matters, all users (that includes both you and your members) must be 13 years of age or older. We apologize if this inconveniences you, but maintaining COPPA records for a site of this nature just isn't practical.
These rules may be modified without notice.

Apply for an Oekaki

Unfortunately, during this initial beta phase, we are unable to offer our service to everyone. We're looking for people familiar with using oekakis that are dedicated to maintaining their site and helping it grow. Prior experience moderating a oekaki is beneficial, but not absolutely necessary to participate in the beta.

Update: Please fill out the information below completely. We have been receiving incomplete applications with very little information. If you don't justify your need for an oekaki, you won't receive one.

This was mentioned above, but it needs to be repeated: please do not apply if you do not have experience using an oekaki. If you don't have experience, you should consider joining a pre-existing oekaki before even considering making your own.

Please do not apply for your own oekaki here just because all of your friends have one. It's really silly to be hosting a whole bunch of oekakis with the same users registered on each one.

Finally, please do not apply for an oekaki as your personal drawing board. We're looking to host active oekakis with multiple users, not a board with only one user (especially only one user that rarely posts.)
